Hello 2/3B families!

August 16, 2017

Hello and welcome!

After three years out of the classroom it's great to be back!  I'm so excited to work with the second and third graders at Grace Mcwayne - what a great way to get back into teaching.  From fall of 2014 until summer of 2017 I worked in Batavia as instructional technology coach across the district.  The position was amazing and offered me a great deal in terms of professional growth but I missed working with students too much to continue in the position.  When the opportunity to return to the classroom arose, I jumped at the chance!

The 2017 - 2018 school year will be my 18th as a teacher, all in Batavia!  Prior to the instructional technology position I worked at H.C. Storm spending most of my 14 years there as a fourth grade teacher.  I also live in Batavia.  My husband, Andy, is also in education.  He is the Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching in Geneva.  We have a ten-year old son, Theo, who is in fifth grade at H.C. Storm.  We also have two dogs Atticus and Sully.

Beyond the classroom I am also a travel enthusiast.  This past summer my family and I were fortunate enough to spend three weeks in South Africa.  A lifelong dream of cage-diving with great whites finally came true while we were there!  My family and I also love to travel to Disney world... in fact I am a Disney Travel Specialist and would be happy to help if ever needed.  Beyond that I love the Chicago Cubs and even tolerate the Bears season after season.

Please let me know if you ever have any questions or concerns. Again, I am so excited to be working back in the classroom and am looking forward to a great year!
